Regina, Saskatoon and Lloydminster were recently recognized in the top five of Canada’s most renter friendly cities. The ranking highlights factors such as housing affordability, quality of life and access to amenities that continue to make Saskatchewan an appealing place to live.
When Adam McGrath relocated from Ottawa to Regina, he cited lower housing costs, shorter commutes and great access to outdoor recreation as key benefits of the move. He is paying 38% less rent for an entire house compared to the two-bedroom condo he rented with his wife in Ottawa. Adam is excited to become a homeowner within the next year, and to be saving for retirement. “Nothing really jumps off the page, it’s just life is easier, less expensive, I’m putting money away and it’s just less stressful in every way,” he said.
